Write On!

a bit about me:

I am a writer who grew up in northern Colorado with the tumbleweeds and the toads. I studied for my bachelor's and master's degrees in English at BYU, where I started teaching writing classes. I have also taught writing and literature classes at Broadview University.

As a writer, I've published literary surveys and analysis. My master's thesis focused on the portrayal of religion in young adult literature, and in the future, I hope to publish more literary analysis as well as some literature of my own. It's hard not to write: I find inspiration everywhere.

My emphasis as a writing instructor has been on technical communications courses. To keep my courses updated, I follow the latest research in teaching tech comm, like design thinking, visual abstracts, and the 3-minute thesis. I have taught as an adjunct and a visiting instructor, and my favorite part of teaching is learning from my wicked-smart students.
